Regular Events Schedule

For Kids

Templeton Library hosts a variety of events year-round for both children and adults. Check out the schedule below to find the event for you.

 

Preschool Storytime

Tuesdays, 10am

Our children's story time is recommended for toddlers and young children. The storytellers are Kristen Barnhart and Papa Bear. 

Pokémon Club

Every other Tuesday,
3–4pm

This student-run event at the farm table in the library is recommended for ages 8–16. Patrons ages 7 and under will need a chaperone who can help with trading and other concerns. Come get trading and other tips from Cameron S.! A permission slip is required.

Art with Annie

Every other Wednesday, 3–4pm

This class is free and recommended for ages 7–12. Materials to make notecards and gifts for the library gift shop will be provided.

First Saturday Stories

First Saturday of each month, 10am (English and 10:30am (bilingual English and Spanish)

Directed at elementary school–aged children, our First Saturday Storytime takes place at the same time as our Vintage and Maker's Market. First Saturdays have something for everyone! 

Stories in English start at 10am while bilingual storytime in Spanish and English starts at 10:30am.

For Adults

Coffee and Stories

Tuesdays, 11am

This meetup for adults is a great opportunity for discussion, chatting, and friendship. Free coffee is provided. The story hosts are Charlie, Keely, Laurel, and Melinda. 

Crochet and Knit Club

Thursdays, 3pm

Come chat while you work on your latest crochet or knitting project! Crochet and Knitting Club is a great place to make friends and improve your fiber arts skills. 

TCLA Book Club

Third Thursday of each month, 1pm

The TCLA Book Club is targeted toward adults and reads a different book each month. Stop by the library or check your library newsletter (available when you sign up for a library card) to learn about our next exciting read! 

Vintage and Maker's Market

First Saturdays of Apr.–June and Sept.–Nov., weather permitting, 
8:00am–1:00pm

This community market and fundraiser for Templeton Library is held monthly on the first Saturday of April through June and September through November in the library parking lot. Rain cancels the market. 

 

Local vendors sell items such as collectibles, crafts, jewelry, horse tack, art, car parts, tools, household goods, decorations, clothing, and photography. 

 

Templeton Library and legal restrictions prohibit the sale of alcohol, weapons, ammunition, drugs or drug paraphernalia, e-cigarettes or vaping products, and fireworks at this event. 

Food vendors are generally prohibited but can be permitted if they have the appropriate permits and special permission from TCLA.

Vendor Rules: 

  • Vendors must apply and be approved by TCLA.

  • Overnight parking is prohibited.

  • ​Load-in starts at 7 am. 

  • Load-out finishes by 2:30pm; vendors remove all items and trash. 

  • Stalls must always be attended. Templeton Library is not responsible for lost or stolen items. 

  • Stalls are 11'x11' and cost $40 each, payable as a donation to TCLA, nonprofit #770542336, via Venmo, PayPal, or cash. Payments may be by local check written out to TCLA upon approval by the TCLA director. The library's Venmo handle is @TempletonLibrary. 

  • Rain cancels the event. Rain credit for vendors will be issued for the following month. 

  • The library does not provide refunds if a vendor cancels after the Wednesday prior to the event. 

  • Additional end-of-day donations are appreciated but not required.
